Lars is a lifelong drummer and college freshman whose rhythm journey began at just four years old. From school stages to recording studios, he’s dedicated his life to exploring sound, connecting with fellow musicians, and sharing his passion for percussion.
Recently, Lars has taken the stage with music legends including Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels of Run–D.M.C., one of hip-hop’s most influential pioneers and a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, as well as Bakithi Kumalo, the world-renowned bassist best known for his work with Paul Simon on Graceland.
Lars is also featured on an upcoming D.M.C. album, performing alongside a range of talented artists, a milestone that reflects his growing versatility and reputation as a dynamic young drummer.
Education & Career
A graduate of Long Beach High School and the Long Island High School for the Arts, Lars earned membership in the National Music Honor Society for his dedication and leadership in the arts.
He is currently pursuing a degree in Music, Entertainment, and Industry Studies at Five Towns College, where he’s also studying Audio Engineering.
Beyond academics, Lars is building hands-on experience as an Audio Engineer intern at The Inn in Long Beach, NY, working live shows and studio sessions. He’s also employed by Live Nation at the Jones Beach Theatre and by Skudin Surf, merging his love for music, performance, and community.
With over a decade of instruction from the Long Island Drum Center and private teachers, Lars has developed advanced skills in technique, timing, and improvisation across multiple styles — from rock and funk to jazz and hip-hop.
He’s performed in more than 100 live shows, spanning community events, school concerts, restaurants, and professional venues. His dedication extends beyond the drum kit: Lars also promotes and books a concert series in Long Beach, raising funds for Surf For All and the Atty Lou Foundation.
Whether performing live, recording original tracks, or collaborating with established artists, Lars continues to grow as both a musician and a mentor, helping younger drummers find their own rhythm.
